Adam caught this chunky cutthroat up at Taylor River Lodge (Irwin Guides) this week. It was a fun father-son trip, and his father, Joe, had a very good day as well.

More Dry Fly Fishing
Wynn had an excellent day of dry fly fishing today. She caught a lot of wild trout throwing a single dry fly in the riffles and on the banks. She did really well mending line and setting the hook, and bringing fish to the net. Nice job Wynn!
Fishing the Hatches
Had a really fun time this week fishing the Green Drake and PMD hatches with Will. Had some great caddis action today as well.
Dry Fly Fishing Small Creeks
Zara did really well this morning fishing a dry fly with her new 7′ 3-wt. bamboo rod. We had a lot of action and she landed some really nice wild brown trout. Great job Zara!
Taylor River @ Taylor River Lodge
Brian and Mike did great today at the Taylor River Lodge private stretch, catching browns, cutthroat, cutbows, and rainbows. Brian got this big cutbow here nymphing through a deep run. It was another fun Irwin Guides trip!
Small Creeks
The rain has kept the small creeks fishing very well into July. The dry fly fishing has been excellent, with hatches of Green Drakes, PMDs, BWOs, caddis, and golden stoneflies. Had a great day yesterday with Mike catching some beautiful wild trout on dry flies.
Taylor River @ Taylor River Lodge
Had a very fun trip up at Taylor River Lodge (with Irwin Guides) today with Dick. He landed rainbows, browns, cutthroat, and a brookie for the grand slam. This fish here was a beast!
Green Drake Hatch
We always look forward to the first few days of the Green Drake hatch, and it’s especially fun helping beginning anglers catch trout on large dry flies. Donna had a really good day today picking off fish with Green Drakes and PMDs, and there were enough that got away to keep her coming back.
Taylor River @ Taylor River Lodge
Had another trip up at Taylor River Lodge (with Irwin Guides) today with Dick and John. It fished really well, and the brothers did great with nymph rigs and streamers!
Taylor River @ Taylor River Lodge
Spent a half-day on the Taylor River at Taylor River Lodge (with Irwin Guides) today. The high water has made it difficult to fish, but there are some nice fish in the eddies near the banks. Joe and Barry did well chucking streamers and also getting some fish to take a dry fly.
