Fall Fly Fishing in the Gunnison Valley
Fall Fishing for Salmon and Trout
Dick enjoyed a beautiful fall day here today, catching plenty of salmon and trout. We even had some good dry fly action during a BWO hatch.
Streamer Fishing
After some cold, wet weather, the rivers came up and were a little off-color. This can sometimes make for a fun day of streamer fishing. Jon and Diane did great moving streamers through the pockets and picking up some really nice wild trout.

Fall Dry Fly Fishing
We had some clouds and rain, and a good BWO hatch on the river today. Brian and Marcella caught some very nice wild trout fishing double dry fly rigs. It was a FUN day!
Big Rainbows
Peri and I had a lot of fun catching some nice chunky rainbows yesterday on the Taylor River. Peri landed loads of fish, including this big bow here.
Sunny with a slight chance of dry fly fishing
It was another bright sunny day today and more like August than September. But Rich did well in the morning getting good fish on a streamer, a nymph rig, and also a dry fly.
Early Fall Fishing
The calendar tells me it’s still summer, but the early morning chill and golden leaves tell me otherwise. It was a beautiful early fall day on the river today. We had to work the river pretty hard, but Rich caught some good wild trout, including this nice brown here of…
Streamer Fishing
Had an excellent day of streamer fishing today. Lots of pretty browns with nice color like this one here.
