Winter is definitely here in the Gunnison Valley. The weather isn’t too brutal yet, so there are opportunities to fish. I had a very nice afternoon on the Taylor River today.

With the first major winter storm heading our way tonight, today may have been the last really nice day to be on the river. You have to enjoy it while you can!

It was hard to believe it was November today! It was a beautiful warm day, and the fishing was good. Randy and Darcy had a good time on the Taylor River at the Taylor River Lodge (booked via Irwin Guides) today, landing some nice fish like this big rainbow here.

Doug and his son, Harrison, caught some big chunky rainbows today on the Taylor River at the Taylor River Lodge (booked via Irwin Guides). They both did really well casting heavy nymph rigs for the first time. Some of the really big fish were tough to hang on to, but they sure gave them a fun ride!

Rob had an excellent day on the Taylor River today, at the Taylor River Lodge (booked via Irwin Guides). He caught several big rainbows and cutbows, and a couple of nice brown trout as well. It was a very fun day!

Rich caught some really nice fish today on the Taylor River at the Taylor River Lodge (booked via Irwin Guides), including this huge rainbow trout. This was Rich’s first time on the private stretch at the lodge and he had an excellent day!

Fall is a great time to throw streamers. Hitting the pockets around the boulders in Taylor Canyon can be really fun.

Fishing with a couple of buddies from NY for a few days. Having some fun and enjoying some spectacular fall weather. Vinny got this nice brown on the East River yesterday, nymphing in the riffle.

Steve had an awesome day on the Taylor River yesterday, catching browns, cutthroat, and lots of big rainbows. This big guy here measured 23 inches! Great job Steve!

Peggy caught some nice fish on the Taylor River today, including this pretty cutthroat. Very fun!
